Healthy Test publishes practical, evidence-informed information about food reactions, gut health, balanced eating, stress and everyday wellbeing. This Editorial Policy explains how we aim to make that content useful, responsible and transparent.
Our editorial principles
- Clarity: We use plain English and explain technical terms when they are necessary.
- Accuracy: Claims should reflect credible evidence and distinguish established knowledge from uncertainty.
- Practicality: Guidance should be realistic, proportionate and safe for a general audience.
- Independence: Editorial decisions should not be controlled by advertisers or commercial partners.
- Respect: We avoid shame, alarmism and unsupported promises about health, food or body size.
Sources and evidence
Writers and editors should prioritise reliable primary and authoritative sources, including peer-reviewed research, recognised medical organisations, public health agencies and professional clinical guidance. Where useful, articles link to key sources so readers can examine them directly.
Evidence can change. We aim to describe uncertainty, limitations and differences between association and causation. A single study, testimonial or commercial claim should not be presented as settled proof.
Health and nutrition content
Healthy Test content is for general education and does not provide a diagnosis, a personalised treatment plan or a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional. Articles should identify situations that warrant professional advice or urgent help when this is important for safety.
We avoid encouraging unnecessarily restrictive diets, unvalidated intolerance testing, abrupt changes to prescribed treatment or claims that one food, supplement or routine can cure a condition. Interactive quizzes or self-assessments published on the site are informational tools and are not medical tests.
Editorial process
- A topic is selected for relevance to the site's readers.
- The article is researched using appropriate sources.
- The draft is checked for clarity, internal consistency, responsible wording and useful context.
- Links, dates and higher-risk claims are reviewed before publication.
- Published content may be revisited when evidence, guidance or site standards change.
Not every article is reviewed by a clinician. When specialist review has occurred, the reviewer and relevant credentials should be identified. The absence of a named medical reviewer means the article should not be understood as personalised clinical advice.
Use of editorial technology
Editorial tools, including spelling, research, translation and AI-assisted drafting tools, may support content production. Such tools do not replace editorial responsibility. Material should be checked by a human editor for relevance, accuracy, tone, source quality and potentially unsafe claims before publication.
Corrections and updates
Meaningful factual errors should be corrected promptly after they are confirmed. Minor spelling, formatting or clarity edits may be made without a correction note. When a correction materially changes the reader's understanding, the article should include an appropriate update or correction notice.
Publication and update dates are used where available. An update date indicates that content has been reviewed or changed; it does not guarantee that every external link remains available.
Advertising, affiliates and conflicts of interest
Advertising supports the operation of the site but should remain distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisers do not receive the right to approve independent articles. Sponsored material, paid placements and affiliate relationships should be disclosed clearly where they apply.
Commercial considerations should not change the conclusion of an article or justify unsupported health claims. Contributors should disclose relevant financial or personal interests that could reasonably affect their work.
Reader feedback
Readers are encouraged to report factual errors, broken sources or unclear wording through any contact method published by the Healthy Test site operator. Feedback is reviewed, but editorial changes are made according to evidence and the standards above.
